I'm back...with a recap

Been gone a bit.  Busy with lots of things....and just uninspired.  Someone reminded me that I WAS doing the 100 day challenge....not the 100 day between posts challenge..haha..ok...so I'm back.....Here's what you missed

November:

Class pet Oreo passes :(  She got sick with a disease called "wet tail" basically meaning diarrhea, It makes the hamster get extremely dehydrated, and they are not able to keep in valuable nutrients.  This was very unfortunate for me...and for my class.  I was very close with this hamster.  She's been with me for three years and really was one of best hamsters I have ever owned.  She will truly be missed!  The kids took the death really  hard as well.  I read this awesome book called Houdini was about a class hamster that died and the kids wrote all the good things that they remember about the hamster.  We wrote about Oreo...and the kids said some really inspiring things.  :(
RIP Oreo :(

I had a lot of events in December.....A bachelorette party in an AMAZING suite.....a wedding reception, an extremely sad tragedy :(, amazon.com gift wrapping community service for the school's PTA, a holiday brunch with my besties, my great aunt's birthday party, my birthday...Christmas....oh...my...the list can go on and on!

For a  birthday/Christmas present I splurged and bought myself the iPhone 4s.  It's amazing...and i LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  Suri has changed my life :)

After Christmas the girls I used to babysit (mentioned in a previous blog) came here to visit.  I was so happy to see them.  I miss them soooooo much.  Seeing them again after so many years was the best experience.  I spent a few days with them...we went to the movies, went to the mall, and just hung out.  They spent the night at my house and we had a sleepover.  It was amazing!  (They are to date the ONLY people who have stayed in my guest room)

January

Work was very stressful.  Our school is being renovated....they are working through all the rooms re-doing pretty  much everything from walls, ceilings, carpet, paint, sinks, etc.  and our turn had come.  We had to pack up EVERYTHING in our classroom including our filing cabinets, and wardrobes.  I...like most teachers I know....have A LOT of stuff....It was exhausting packing everything...not to mention the stress of not having enough boxes, tape etc to pack up the classroom in a timely manner.  Did I mention that I was supposed to be teaching my little six year olds this whole time...hah Then movers came and moved the 100 boxes (no this is not a joke...I didn't count the boxes, but there was probably more than 100) and all the furniture into a room probably half the size of my previous room.  This all happened over MLK weekend.  I spent my 3 day weekend organizing, unpacking, moving and rearranging my classroom.  Thankfully  my dad came and helped me move the heavy things and brought some of the boxes of stuff I don't really use to my house to be stored in  my garage.  It was so much fun I can hardly wait to do it again!

Family from Wisconsin joined us for a week-my aunt, uncle, and younger cousin Emma and their brand new Yorkie puppy Winston.  It was fun...we didn't do much..but hanging out with family I haven't seen in a while was wonderful.

February....

I am finally settled into my new room...and we were told that we will remain in the portable  until the end of the year.  I finally feel like things are somewhat back to normal.  Thank goodness.  I do not do well with change...and I have felt like my life has been turned upside down!

I have free tickets to 6 wrangler games in February-Yay.  We went to a game on Thursday and Friday.  They are playing the Alaskan Aces who are a very big rival of the wranglers.  The Aces come with lots of fans.....and they pretty much buy out the section where we usually sit.  They have crazy blue hair hats, these annoying horns, and the loudest cow bells I've ever heard!  We lost on Thursday but won on Friday.  Today is the last game in the series, and I'm currently watching it now on the CW live!   Hockey is my LOVE!!!

A few weeks ago when my cousin Emma was here...we went to Petsmart to get a new hamster for the class.  We picked out the cutest hamster...we named her Cinnamon...after the color of her fur.  Three days after buying her I noticed she was acting a little strange..listless....and just not normal.....and sure enough..she was sick with wet tail.  I felt a huge swell of deja vu.  I immediately took her back to the store, where they admitted her into the sick area and began to give her medicine.  I just talked today with a representative at pets mart and sadly Cinnamon has passed.  I am so disappointed.  Tomorrow I will be going back to get my money back...and am weary of getting another from them.  I want to replace the class pet for the kids...and I just bought a new wheel, food, water bottle, and house for a hamster who I don't even have now. I don't want to disappoint the kids, but I just don't know if I can handle another hamster death.....this hamster will probably be the last hamster I ever buy....
RIP Cinnamon :(

Ok...now for the 100 day challenge...yes I'm still doing it...haha

Day 34:  A picture of your currently most played CD.  I have resorted to Cd's...as my ipod has gone missing...I don't know if I just misplaced it...or if it was stolen...but I have been playing Taylor Swift's Speak Now CD for the past two weeks non stop.  :)
