Pinterest.....Need I say more?

Haven't joined the world of  pinterest?...I'm not sure I can recommend joining.  Don't get me wrong...I LOVE this site.  I am constantly on the app on my phone pinning my life away.  I have pins for crafts to create, ways to clean, organization tips, yummy recipes I want to try, quotes I like..as well as classroom ideas.  The majority of my pins are ideas for my classroom.  However, I feel like I am constantly pinning ideas....and I never create any of these ideas.  I have created some of my ideas from pinterest for my classroom, but there are soooo many great ideas that I haven't created.  Everyday I go onto my pinterest and I think I should do this...or that...etc. Makes me want to go into the classroom and get started on everyone of those amazing ideas.  I think to myself...my classroom can be so much more: cleaner, organized, nicer looking, functional, better, insert word here, if I just implemented some of my pins.  I am planning on going through my pins and making a list of ideas that I'm absolutely going to make, things I might make, and things that I'd like to make if I have extra time/energy on my hands.  Then maybe I'll accomplish some of my classroom pinterest dreams. :)  When I create some of these ideas I promise to post pictures! :)

Now for the picture :  Post 45

Post a picture of a celebrity some one's said you look like.

Well I've had a few people tell me I look like Mila Kunis.  I maybe look a tiny bit like her...if I was super skinny and beautiful, but here's a pic anyways.

Getting Caught up....and day 44

So it's been a week since I've written.  It's been wonderful filling my days with things I want to do.

Last Sunday was one of the hottest days of the summer.  I went with my boyfriend and his kids and his sister's family to his dad's house to swim and BBQ.  It was a very nice time.  Family things are always fun!  We swam in their pool-which is very interesting (its deepest in the middle-which is kinda cool...the outside edges are the shallowest...and they have a connected Jacuzzi with waterfall that goes into the pool.)  Its very nice! After we swam we cooked hamburgers and hot dogs and then went swimming again.  It was super duper hot outside though...Even though we were in the pool it felt like I was on the surface of the sun!  The sun sure does drain me.  I feel like if I had an energy gauge on me, the sun would turn my energy all the way down!  We went home and then I had to take a quick shower and head over to my friend's house for our True Blood night.  We've been meeting up for a year during the last two seasons ofTrue Blood to watch the vampire show on HBO.  We each take turns and make a dessert to share with each other while we watch.  It's a nice time spent with friends!  Next Sunday it's my turn to make dessert.  I think I am going to make these Oreo cream cheese cookies (a recipe I found on Pinterest)

But since it's been so hot, I'm not sure if I'm going to make these...or just buy some dessert because I'm wary to turn on my oven and heat up my house.  They sure do look delicious....

On Monday my boyfriend, his daughter, and I went to lunch at a casino close to my house, and went to see World War Z at this fancy movie theater near my house that has reclining seats and tables.  It's so nice!

The next day I went shopping with my friend....it was super hot out though.  We went to Hobby Lobby, Michaels Big Lots, Pier One Imports, and Burlington Coat Factory.  It was a nice day shopping with my friend,  I bought a new canvas art to hang in my bathroom.  It's super cute!

Here's a picture of the canvas art hung up:

Yesterday was the Fourth of July.  It was a pretty chill day...I hung out at home and went to my friend's house in the evening.  We had taco themed night and had a few margaritas.  Then we went outside to set off the fireworks they had and also the ones I had brought with me.  A few of her neighbors had fireworks just like us, as well as some illegal ones that shoot up into the air.  It was fun watching all the fireworks as well as setting off our fireworks.  It was a great day!

That brings me to the picture of the day:  Day 44 Post a picture of something you can't function without.  So you know it's summer...and super duper hot here!  Something I cannot function without is my a/c.  Which unfortunately, last night my upstairs a/c broke! :( I came home from my fun Fourth of July activities to a broken a/c.  Luckily I have a home warranty, so I only have to pay $60 to fix it, so it's not too upsetting.  But I did have to sleep downstairs on  my couch last night. :( So how it works, if you don't have a warranty company,  is that you call or go online and put in the work order.  They give your information to a company, and then the company calls you to set up an appointment. So I woke up and anxiously awaited the call from the a/c company.  Fast forward to around 1:00....and still no call! :(  So I decided to call the company, they didn't answer, but I left a voicemail.  Fast forward to 2:30...and I receive a phone call from the company...and he says he needs to cancel because his truck is in the shop and he's not sure when it'll be out and he doesn't want to make me wait to get the air fixed.  He says he's going to call the home warranty company and cancel.  So now I'm anxiously waiting for the home warranty company to call me and change my a/c company.  They don't call...and I'm getting nervous that they are going to close...so I call them.  They give me a new company...and I immediately call the new company.  They haven't received my info yet, therefore they cannot create an appointment yet.  And they closed in like 10 min.  So the lady I spoke with said that they will call in the a.m. tomorrow to set up an appointment.  So now I have to wait till tomorrow to even set up the appointment.  Did I mention that it's like 108 degrees outside?  So unfortunately I'm going to have to sleep downstairs again tonight....bummer! But I think I should be happy that I have 2 a/c units and that at least it's cool downstairs and I'm not sweating and miserable.  Here's a picture of something I cannot function without...my A/C!

Summer Bliss

I LOVE the summer!  I finally feel like I can breathe...and do what I want to do.  However, I find that I'm just sitting around...haha  But it's so hot out right now that's all I really want to do anyways.  I have been sleeping in almost everyday which is AWESOME! And staying in my pj's till half the day is gone.  It is blissful!  One of these days I want to do a deep cleaning of my house..do the floors, clean out the cabinets in the kitchen, clean the wooden blinds using the vacuum and some pledge...organize the closets and get rid of some things.  I also have a ton of picture frames that I want to fill and find a place in my house to set them up.  Maybe I should just make a checklist...and do it little by little one everyday.

I have been thinking a lot lately about family.  I have family in Ohio....Wisconsin....and here in town.  I like to think that my family is close...but I actually don't think we are.  I am close to my immediate family (mom and dad and brother) but I feel I lack closeness with the other family members.  I barely every talk with any of my family here in town, and only talk with the out of town family members once in a while and it's usually on Facebook in a Facebook message or commenting on a picture/status.  Kinda lame!  I wish my family was closer.   Maybe I can make more of an effort to keep in touch with some family.  I know everyone gets busy and sometimes it's hard to make time in our busy lives to talk etc.  I feel like I wish I could connect with some of my aunts/uncles/cousins.  Some I haven't seen in such a long time.  I can put in all the effort that I want, but if there is no effort put forth by the others, then it's just wasted.

Ok...so for the picture of the day Day 43:  Post a picture of your dream house

Well I don't actually have a picture of my dream house...but actually this past weekend my boyfriend, his son, and I went to look at model homes which is one of my favorite things to do!  We actually looked at half a million dollar homes...and they were AMAZING!  As you would expect homes that cost that amount of money would look.  Obviously I am not in the position to be able to afford a house of that magnitude-but I think that if one day I miraculously win the lottery or come into a bunch of money I could imagine myself in one of those homes.  It was fun to look at the houses and sorta imagine living there!

My dream house would include:  at least 5 bedrooms, an office, a loft, a huge kitchen with an island, a sorta open floor plan, I like one story homes, but I also like the way the living area and the sleeping area are separated in a two story home.  It would be nice to have a backyard that I could relax in, with possibly a hot tub, and a gazebo and hammock and maybe a garden with roses and tulips and a fountain.  I would like a comfortable homey home that is functional but still has a little pizazz to it.

I imagine my dream home looking sorta like this:

1st Day of Summer

So today is the first day of summer...however it's been over 100 degrees here since May.  Watching the news it's supposed to be 109 next Thursday and 112 on Friday.  You need to add at least 5-10 degrees to the temperature that the news reports because down here near the lake it is at least 5-10 degrees hotter!  It's going to be soooooo hot next week!  Maybe I'll have to head over to Wet n Wild and cool off in the lazy river or the wave  pool on those days!

Had a nice relaxing day today.  Slept in with my man.....went shopping at Hobby Lobby with a friend for decorations for her kitchen.  She got some CUTE stuff !  Finally, on the way home, got my car washed!  It's so sparkling clean now!  The other day I bought this air freshener at Bath and Body Works.  It's like a disk, and it slips in a holder that clips on your visor.  I've never used this type of air freshener, but I just put it into my car, and it smells so nice-Caribbean Escape I believe is the smell! What a great Friday! :)

Now for Day 42:  Post a picture of your pet.

Here's a picture of my Bella on her birthday wearing a tutu I made her.  She's less than excited though.  Heh.  She only wore it for a few minutes while I was taking this picture and then I took it off and put her out of her misery.  LOL The things I do to my pet.  I sure do love her though!

I'm baaaaccccckkkkk!

Wow!  It's be a long long time since I've written on here!  A close friend of mine has recently started a blog...and her new blogging has inspired me to start my blog again!  Plus it's summer...so what a great time to start posting again (since I've got some time on my hands)

Some updates since I've stopped writing:

I just ended my 7th year teaching first grade. Wow! that's crazy!

I paid off my car! :)

I have a wonderful boyfriend!

I can't remember a time when I've been this happy! :)

Life is good....

I'm going to try and continue with the picture a day post....and I know already that I won't be able to stick to a picture EVERY SINGLE DAY.  But I will try and at least make it to 100 this time. No promises though..hehe I'm not going to start over....going to start where I left off-Day 41

Day 41 is post a picture of your favorite Disney character.  This is super hard for me since I sorta have a love affair with all things Disney.

I really have many favorites in Disney.  Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel from Tangled, Alice from Alice and Wonderland (I also like the Cheshire cat from Alice and Wonderland),  Dopey from Snow White,  Give me a Disney movie and I'll have a hard time telling you which I don't like.  Hehe...

Anyways...a few years ago (February 2010) Me, Jess and Lexi went to Disneyland.  It was pretty much the best trip ever!  Anyways I took a picture with Mary Poppins and Bert from Mary Poppins.  I still to this day LOVE this movie.  But I also love a whole bunch of Disney movies (Pretty much all of them) But this picture will suffice for my favorite Disney character!
