Getting Caught up....and day 44

So it's been a week since I've written.  It's been wonderful filling my days with things I want to do.

Last Sunday was one of the hottest days of the summer.  I went with my boyfriend and his kids and his sister's family to his dad's house to swim and BBQ.  It was a very nice time.  Family things are always fun!  We swam in their pool-which is very interesting (its deepest in the middle-which is kinda cool...the outside edges are the shallowest...and they have a connected Jacuzzi with waterfall that goes into the pool.)  Its very nice! After we swam we cooked hamburgers and hot dogs and then went swimming again.  It was super duper hot outside though...Even though we were in the pool it felt like I was on the surface of the sun!  The sun sure does drain me.  I feel like if I had an energy gauge on me, the sun would turn my energy all the way down!  We went home and then I had to take a quick shower and head over to my friend's house for our True Blood night.  We've been meeting up for a year during the last two seasons ofTrue Blood to watch the vampire show on HBO.  We each take turns and make a dessert to share with each other while we watch.  It's a nice time spent with friends!  Next Sunday it's my turn to make dessert.  I think I am going to make these Oreo cream cheese cookies (a recipe I found on Pinterest)

But since it's been so hot, I'm not sure if I'm going to make these...or just buy some dessert because I'm wary to turn on my oven and heat up my house.  They sure do look delicious....

On Monday my boyfriend, his daughter, and I went to lunch at a casino close to my house, and went to see World War Z at this fancy movie theater near my house that has reclining seats and tables.  It's so nice!

The next day I went shopping with my friend....it was super hot out though.  We went to Hobby Lobby, Michaels Big Lots, Pier One Imports, and Burlington Coat Factory.  It was a nice day shopping with my friend,  I bought a new canvas art to hang in my bathroom.  It's super cute!

Here's a picture of the canvas art hung up:

Yesterday was the Fourth of July.  It was a pretty chill day...I hung out at home and went to my friend's house in the evening.  We had taco themed night and had a few margaritas.  Then we went outside to set off the fireworks they had and also the ones I had brought with me.  A few of her neighbors had fireworks just like us, as well as some illegal ones that shoot up into the air.  It was fun watching all the fireworks as well as setting off our fireworks.  It was a great day!

That brings me to the picture of the day:  Day 44 Post a picture of something you can't function without.  So you know it's summer...and super duper hot here!  Something I cannot function without is my a/c.  Which unfortunately, last night my upstairs a/c broke! :( I came home from my fun Fourth of July activities to a broken a/c.  Luckily I have a home warranty, so I only have to pay $60 to fix it, so it's not too upsetting.  But I did have to sleep downstairs on  my couch last night. :( So how it works, if you don't have a warranty company,  is that you call or go online and put in the work order.  They give your information to a company, and then the company calls you to set up an appointment. So I woke up and anxiously awaited the call from the a/c company.  Fast forward to around 1:00....and still no call! :(  So I decided to call the company, they didn't answer, but I left a voicemail.  Fast forward to 2:30...and I receive a phone call from the company...and he says he needs to cancel because his truck is in the shop and he's not sure when it'll be out and he doesn't want to make me wait to get the air fixed.  He says he's going to call the home warranty company and cancel.  So now I'm anxiously waiting for the home warranty company to call me and change my a/c company.  They don't call...and I'm getting nervous that they are going to close...so I call them.  They give me a new company...and I immediately call the new company.  They haven't received my info yet, therefore they cannot create an appointment yet.  And they closed in like 10 min.  So the lady I spoke with said that they will call in the a.m. tomorrow to set up an appointment.  So now I have to wait till tomorrow to even set up the appointment.  Did I mention that it's like 108 degrees outside?  So unfortunately I'm going to have to sleep downstairs again tonight....bummer! But I think I should be happy that I have 2 a/c units and that at least it's cool downstairs and I'm not sweating and miserable.  Here's a picture of something I cannot function without...my A/C!
